SANTA BÁRBARA DE NEXE PHOTOVOLTAIC SOLAR PLANT IN FARO PROGRESSES AT A GOOD PACE

Santa Bárbara de Nexe photovoltaic solar plant in the south of Portugal, Faro, is progressing at a good pace, the works began in April on a 24-hectare plot in Medronhal, a parish of Santa Bárbara de Nexe. In total, 24,000 panels will be installed that will allow feeding about 7,000 homes and avoiding the emission of another 6,000 tons of CO2 per year. The park will have an annual electricity production capacity of 24 gigawatt-hours (GWh), and is expected to go into operation in February 2023.

This plant will have a fundamental impact on energy production in the Faro region, and is located in one of the best solar radiation zones in Europe.

The project safeguards all environmental preservation issues, taking into account the impact on the area in which it is located, seeking to preserve existing biodiversity, creating natural corridors between the main areas of the photovoltaic park.

The company DC-PV Decentralized Photovoltaics, based in Faro, was the company selected for the construction of this project, signed the engineering, procurement and construction contract (EPC) for the execution of this plant. In the market since 2012, DC-PV is an engineering company of the Asunim group that is dedicated exclusively to photovoltaic solar energy projects. Its portfolio has national and international projects. This company has an experienced engineering team with all the necessary skills for the successful execution of this project of extreme relevance to the municipality of Faro.
